This is the lead role to support preparing, analyzing, negotiating, and revision of contracts for Kaggle.com and its customers.

 

Job Role

As the main point of contact for contracts, you will work closely with the Kaggle.com team to deliver projects for clients and manage the contracting needs pertaining to Kaggle’s vibrant community of participants. You will be responsible for implementing servicing processes, optimizing financial transactions, researching relevant legal issues, speaking to clients, and legal negotiation. You will play a lead role in defining project terms and consult on the larger business development of the company.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Simplify existing contracting processes and legal documentation
  • Oversee the preparation and revision of contracts
  • Work with external legal counsel to resolve conflicts
  • Oversee proposal planning and administration of contracts
  • Connect with clients, negotiate business and legal terms and conditions
  • Prepare contract briefs summarizing contractual requirements and budgets
  • Prepare and disseminate information to staff regarding contract status, facilitate meetings

 

Skills & Requirements

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience, paralegal certificate a plus and/or JD.
  • 2+ years hands on experience negotiating and drafting agreements, preferably software or intellectual property licensing agreements on the sales side
  • Working knowledge of basic contract provisions, preferably through contracts management or negotiating experience.
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills in a variety of different agreement types. Proficient with Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; professional manner. Able to work effectively and efficiently with all levels of management and personnel.
  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks and high priority tasks independently
  • Proficient in contract management software and document management software (e.g., Dropbox, Box).
