By leveraging insights we’ve learned from running challenging machine learning competitions that attracted best-in-class talent, we’re now building out end-to-end solutions on an industry by industry basis. We’re currently focused on energy, the world’s largest industry.

As a software developer at Kaggle, you’ll work with our team of developers and data scientists to build solutions that consumes vast amounts of raw data to produce insights that help companies make strategic decisions.

 

Skills & Requirements:

  • Solid programming skills refined from working on substantial projects.
  • Code sample from a project you’ve worked on
  • Very comfortable working in Windows
  • Comfortable setting up your own machine and learning how to use new things.

 

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Any public profile that shows your interest in writing great software (e.g. your GitHub repos, pull requests to open source projects, a StackOverflow profile, etc).
  • A demonstrated interest in data and machine learning (e.g. participation in Kaggle competitions, creating a project that leverages data)
  • A history of scripting repetitive tasks (e.g. in PowerShell, DSC, Bash, Puppet, Chef)
  • Experience with C# and .NET
  • Experience with R and several packages from CRAN
  • Familiarity with OS X.

 

Kaggle is based in San Francisco, but we're open to remote employees as well.
